Sweet Meat
A multidisciplinary collaboration
by Kirsty May Hamilton & Eilidh Appletree under the name Fallen Bones.
Sweet Meat
Fallen Bones is an emerging multidisciplinary arts company who make feminist works that exist in the space between theatre and fine-art.
Formed by theatre-maker Kirsty May Hamilton and visual artist Eilidh Appletree, we confront the systems of patriarchy and class.
Sweet Meat is a multidisciplinary R&D, bringing together sculptures made of sticky sugar and moulded into body parts, live performance and fairytale narrative. We are interested in conjuring thoughts of homeliness, the female body as a commodity, and cannibalism.
The work considers the home as a site of violence.
The project is funded by the Creative Scotland Open Fund,
with support from Surge and the Tron Theatre.
